Today consisted of a hodgepodge of chores, including Christmas shopping. I used to really enjoy Christmas shopping, and I still do for my wife and boys. The problem is the girls; I got no business buying gifts for teenage girls.
On a positive note, I finished up and submitted a couple stories today, which means we should be able to keep the lights on and the kids fed for another month. However, my biggest accomplishment was to finalize the writing a new book, Under Orion, MORE Hunting Stories from Appalachia to Africa. This is a sequel to the original Under Orion and it will contain some stories that have been published in magazines but also some new stories. With any luck it will be available for purchase on Amazon and on this website right around the turn of the year.
Damned if I’m going to launch a new book in 2020!
I was honored that my long time editor and friend, Adam Heggenstaller, who is now the Editorial Director for Game & Fish, agreed to write the foreword. I was also shocked that I did not have to pay him more to write good things about me. A story from this book will appear in an upcoming issue of Game & Fish magazine, and instructions for pre-ordering autographed copies will be available soon.
