The Grandest Prize

Ryan Jones

Last October I got to share the Gunsite experience with a husband and wife from Lima, Ohio. More than 64,000 people entered a contest sponsored by Crimson Trace to attend the Laser Integrated 250 Pistol Class at Gunsite; Ryan & Allison Jones were the winners. Two finer folks could not have been selected.

The video sort of details their experiences through the five-day course which Gunsite has been teaching for 40 years. What makes this version of the course so special is that Gunsite has incorporated Crimson Trace lasers into the curriculum; you get everything you would get in a regular 250 Pistol Course, with the addition of how to install, zero, and apply a laser sight, and an extra low light shoot.

If you have ever wondered about attending training at Gunsite, or thought about getting a laser sight for your defensive handgun, I encourage you to watch this eight minute video. There are two major take-a-ways.

  1. Until you have been properly instructed on the use of a laser sight you cannot appreciate how much it can enhance your ability to employ a defensive handgun.
  2. There is no place on earth like Gunsite Academy. It will change your life.

I’d also like to add that no matter what you think of those who live in Ohio (we all know they cannot drive) and no matter how they vote in this upcoming election, you can rest assured there are two well-trained patriots living there. The last thing a predator wants to do is mess with Ryan or Allison Jones or their kids. That I’m most certain of!

Yes, Ryan and Allison won a grand prize but the real prize was not a week away from their kids and work. It was not time spent in sunny Arizona. And, it was not the free room and board while there. The real prize, the grandest prize, was the confidence instilled by the training they received.

Like Allison says at the end of the video, “It’s hard to put into words what this did for my confidence.”

That’s a priceless prize you can get too. If you can’t win it, its worth paying for.
