Most hunters do not practice enough or receive proper training when it comes to shooting. On the other hand, shooting schools are full of students who want to learn how to shoot an AR 15 at imagined bad guy targets at close range or a precision rifle at long range. At least here stateside there are a lot more bullets fired at animals than bad guys. Hunters need training too. Magpul Core realizes this and so does their precision rifle instructor, Caylen Wojcik, which is why they developed the Precision Hunter course.
This class is a two day class focusing on precision and it will test your limits as a shooter as well as the limits of your equipment. Now before you get all bent out of shape about long range hunting, that’s not the goal of the class. As Wojcik said in the first 10 minutes,”While you are here you will learn your limits and a man has got to know his limitations, whether they are 150 yards or 400.”
Additionally, learning your equipment and how well you can use it is important too. Not to mention that being able to consistently whack targets at 500 yards does a great deal to build your confidence when shooting at much closer distances. If you’re looking for some precision hunting rifle training that incorporates shooting from field positions, I suggest you consider this course. Its the second class I’ve taken from Caylen, who served in combat with the Marines as a sniper. He is a hunter and he knows what he is talking about. I consider him one of the top 10 instructors, and one of the best shots, I’ve ever trained with!
