Yesterday my nine year old daughter, 13 year old son and I ran a box of ammo through what might be the most fun gun to shoot of any I own; Browning’s diminutive 1911-22 Compact. This little pistol weighs less than a pound and has a 3 5/8 inch barrel and, of course it is a .22 which automatically means its fun to shoot.
With the 1911 being a long time favorite and with the Commander version of the 1911 being my first choice, this little gun was right up my alley. We did not want to stop shooting but Bat had basketball practice and a kid has to have priorities. At any rate, at 10 yards one-inch groups were not a problem and the little pistol digested every round without a hitch.
What a great camp gun or gun to teach kids to shoot a pistol. Yeah, it may be a bit pricey for a .22 pistol but there is nothing else like it.
Look for more on this little gem of a shooting iron to come as more rounds go down range. One thing’s for sure, its going to get a lot of use around Shadowland!
