My first exposure to Nightforce Optics<\/a> was during a long range shooting course at Sniper Country<\/a> in Utah. We were shooting .338 Lapua Magnums and for five days we pounded round after round down range. I never had to adjust or re-zero my Nightforce. When I took another long range shooting course with Magpul<\/a> I borrowed a Nightforce Compact riflescope<\/a>. I liked that scope so much I had to have one and consider it one of the most versatile optical options available for a hunting rifle.\"_DSC6251\"<\/p>\n

Last fall I got to test the new B.E.A.S.T. from Nightforce<\/a>. I had the help of a seriously experienced long range shooter – Mike Moore<\/a> from Gunsite Academy<\/a> – and after a serious workout we both concluded it just might be the Best Example of Advanced Scope Technology. If I was a serous long range shooter I’d have to write a check for one of these too. That article will be in an upcoming issue of Shooting Illustrated magazine<\/a>.\"Beast\"<\/p>\n

Most recently I’ve been working with the newest Nightforce which is called the SHV – Shooter, Hunter, Varminter<\/a>. This is the least expensive Nightforce you can buy and even though it is about half the price of other Nightforce optics, you’ll not have to settle for less quality. I liked this scope so much I asked Nightforce to let me keep it on lone for an extended period of time so that I can use it to test the rifles and ammunition I write about. That’s something you cannot do responsibly with a scope that is not completely trustworthy.<\/p>\n
