\"MKT-5\"<\/a>Regardless what ship you\u2019re on, it needs an anchor. Ships and boats without anchors eventually end up adrift. The ship of gun owners we all ride on finds rougher water at each turn in the river. To hold our position we need an anchor and Gunsite<\/a>, the place where the four rules of firearms safety were originated<\/a>, can be that anchor. Sure, we need the NRA, but the NRA is more like the Marines on the ship, they fight for our rights. Gunsite just quietly goes along, like they have since America’s 200th birthday, teaching the safe, practical and judicious use of firearms to citizens, soldiers and cops. Gunsite<\/a> is the oldest and most legitimized higher learning institue for firearms training in the world.<\/p>\n\n

Some have asked why I have the Gunsite raven on my truck and why I wear a raven pendant around my neck. Some mistakenly assume that Gunsite sponsors me or that I work for Gunsite. Neither are true. Gunsite is the alma mater I am most proud of. Of the many certificates and diploma’s I’ve earned, only those from Gunsite are on my wall. Its where my wife and son have graduated and where my two daughters will also.<\/p>\n

\"Gunsite<\/a>I’ve often said that, “The further you get from Gunsite, the less trust you can have in your firearms training.” Every time I go there I’m even more convinced this is true. Shooters and gun owners need a place with history<\/a> and purpose that supports our interest, and that can also provide basic to advanced level instruction. We need that bastion of higher learning. We need a place with a history and a legacy<\/a> that can certify our education in firearms application.<\/p>\n

After all, it is where it all began.<\/p>\n

We need a standard. Gunsite has set that standard and if you go there you will meet that standard. And, forever more, when you tell another shooter that you have graduated a course at Gunsite, they will not question your proficiency.
