\"\"<\/a>I was a Gunsite<\/a> disciple long before I ever went there. The writings of COL Cooper inspired me and instructed me. Over the last several years I’ve had the opportunity to attend various courses at Gunsite<\/a>. In fact, of all the diplomas and training certificates I’ve ever earned, the certificate I was given for graduating the Gunsite 250 Defensive Pistol Class<\/a> is the only one which is framed.<\/p>\n

When I wrote my new book, Handgun Training for Personal Protection, I drew heavily on the teachings of Cooper and Gunsite<\/a>. I did this for several reasons. Primarily because Cooper’s philosophy and the Gunsite<\/a> doctrine are worth sharing but also partly because I knew that many who would read my book could not afford to ever go to Gunsite<\/a>. And, I know what that is like. When I was a police officer I desperately wanted to go but, much like now, times were tight.<\/p>\n
