I’m sure if any of you know anything about looking for gun information on the Internet, you know who Jeff Quinn is or at least now how to direct your browser to Gunblasts. (It’s www.gunblasts.com for those who are not Googly inclined.)<\/p>\n

For those not familiar with Quinn and his on-line gun magazine and video gun reviews, I’ll just say there might not be a better source for hillbillies, anyone who thinks they might be a hillbilly or anyone who even secretly wishes they were a hillbilly or a mountain man<\/em> to get down to earth information on new and old guns, presented in a way that is down to earth and believable<\/p>\n

This is mostly because Quinn is down to earth and believable. What you do not get from the Internet is how entertaining Quinn is. Last night after a day of shooting new Para-USA pistols at Gunsite and pulling them from Galco Styker Kydex holsters, our group gathered at a fine restaurant for supper. The mix of folks was – how shall I say this – unusual.<\/p>\n

Quinn and I sit across the table from a fellow who was eating snails and another who was talking about squirrel head sandwiches. Then there was another who was eating crab-stuffed barracuda. Quinn and myself opted for a simpler plate; fried catfish. For about two hours Quinn managed to keep me laughing with his hilarious commentary on what our companions were shoving in their pie holes.<\/p>\n

But the coolest thing I noticed about Quinn was his approach to open carry. Right there on his right hip – in plain view for all the world to see – was this small leather holster containing a little bottle of habanero sauce and in his pocket was a sharp knife. Now listen, my fellow gun enthusiasts, a real man carries his culinary tools everywhere he goes, I guess just in case he might have to eat something like escargot or a rodent head.<\/p>\n

Now, you might be asking why a real gun guy would carry a bottle of sauce on his right hip? Well, Quinn is left handed.<\/p>\n
