Before you comment I suggest you read the article,<\/a> which was recently published in NRA’s American Rifleman<\/a>. As expected, I received a lot of feedback from readers and I’m happy to observe they actually read the article as opposed to just looking at the pretty pictures.<\/p>\n

I’m sure Bryce Towsley<\/a> is on a range somewhere right now screaming my name – mixed in with obscenities – at the top of his lungs. He probably read the first paragraph of my article, threw the magazine in the fireplace, mixed him a drink and then tried to relax in his easy chair while fondling his .44.<\/p>\n

A practical personal protection plan should include a handgun, but that handgun should, without question, be one you\u2019re comfortable with. As you become more experienced you\u2019ll have the opportunity to further evaluate the situation and trade-up as your comfort and skills increase. For some, a .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (WMR) might be the best place to start. It\u2019s also affordable, readily available and relatively easy to shoot. READ MORE<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n
