Actually, you see a lot of stupid stuff on Facebook about everything. Some come in the form of posts but most are found in the comments section.\u00a0Here are five of my favorites that have become Internet clich\u00e9s. In fact the 223 Remington is legal for deer \u2013 big game \u2013 hunting in more states that it is not. It is also very effective on deer when the right bullets are used. Then of course someone will say, \u201cBut with a 223 shot placement is very important.\u201d Um\u2026dude\u2026shot placement is always important. Another argument is that the 223 will work for small deer but not big 200-pound northern deer. If you think a 200-pound deer is twice as hard to kill as a 100-pound deer; well, you\u2019ve not killed very many deer.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14293\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14293\" style=\"width: 703px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-14293\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/P-16.jpg?resize=703%2C222\" alt=\"P-16\" width=\"703\" height=\"222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/P-16.jpg?w=1000&amp;ssl=1 1000w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/P-16.jpg?resize=300%2C95&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/P-16.jpg?resize=768%2C243&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 703px) 100vw, 703px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14293\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Your survival in a defensive situation will hinge more on mindset and tactics than whether you have a 9 or a 45. Get over it &#8211; argue about something important.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>2: \u201cThe 9 is fine but the 45 is final.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The difference in the wounding afforded by the 9mm and 45 is so slight, trauma surgeons cannot tell the difference. The difference in bullet diameter is after all only 1\/10 of one inch. (Some Doritos are thicker than that!) 9mm pistols have more capacity and velocity, 45s shoot a heavier bullet, and the 40 splits the difference. You don\u2019t want to get shot with any of the three.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14295\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14295\" style=\"width: 712px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-14295\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/P-88.jpg?resize=712%2C322\" alt=\"P-88\" width=\"712\" height=\"322\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/P-88.jpg?w=1000&amp;ssl=1 1000w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/P-88.jpg?resize=300%2C136&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/P-88.jpg?resize=768%2C347&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 712px) 100vw, 712px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14295\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">No, this new wildcat cartridge &#8211; and most likely any other &#8211; will not change the world but it was fun and educational to work with. Your lack of understanding as to why it was created is irrelevant.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>3: \u201cIt&#8217;s an answer to a question nobody asked.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This usually comes up with the introduction of a new firearm and is often the argument presented when a new cartridge is invented. What the person is really, most likely saying is that, \u201cI do not have the intelligence or know enough about guns to formulate a question that addresses the\u00a0advantages the new cartridge offers.\u201d And then too, maybe the question was, \u201cLet\u2019s make something fun to shoot.\u201d There\u2019s never anything wrong with that.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14294\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14294\" style=\"width: 703px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-14294\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/P-15.jpg?resize=703%2C342\" alt=\"P-15\" width=\"703\" height=\"342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/P-15.jpg?w=999&amp;ssl=1 999w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/P-15.jpg?resize=300%2C146&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/P-15.jpg?resize=768%2C374&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 703px) 100vw, 703px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14294\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Laser sights are not perfect but they can be an important tool, if you understand how to use them. Most don&#8217;t.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>4: \u201cLaser sights are a gimmick.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Proudly spoken by folks who have never been trained in the use of a laser on a defensive handgun. Their advantages are many once you open a closed mind and become skilled in their application. They will help you shoot faster and more accurately, and they are very valuable at\u00a0times when you cannot get the handgun between your eyes and the target. Shoot a bench rest group at 50 yards with your pistol using sights and a laser, and compare the difference. Laser sights are\u00a0also a great training tool.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14300\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/3006-1024x261.png?resize=710%2C181\" alt=\"3006\" width=\"710\" height=\"181\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/3006.png?resize=1024%2C261&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/3006.png?resize=300%2C76&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/empty-cases.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/3006.png?resize=768%2C195&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 710px) 100vw, 710px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>5: \u201cI\u2019ll just stick with my 30-06.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>First, nobody cares if you have a 30-06. Second, this is often another way of saying, you don\u2019t have the money to purchase a new gun you secretly really like, or that you don\u2019t understand the mechanical and ballistic advantage\u00a0a\u00a0new cartridge offers.
