For years shooters have relied on ballistic coefficient (BC) to help them hit at long-range. The thing is, BC is nothing more than an educated guess. It\u2019s a good guess; its just not a perfect guess.<\/p>\n

By using Doppler radar and actually shooting bullets at long-range, Hornady<\/a> has essentially taken a video of the bullet\u2019s flight and integrated that data into complex formulas that accurately predict how the bullet will fly.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a revolutionary new approach to long-range shooting and it works. While visiting Hornady<\/a> I fired a few shots with my Steyr Scout Rifle<\/a> on Doppler radar. The smart guys there did some calculations and my next shot was a first round hit at 600 yards. About a week later I used that same rifle and same Precision Hunter<\/a> ammo loaded with a 178-grain ELD-X<\/a> bullet to kill a Idaho black bear at 400 yards.<\/p>\n
