For all my life I’ve struggled with finding a strap to securely and comfortably carry a rifle, and\u00a0also serve as a shooting aid. I’ve tried almost everything sling\u00a0the market. For shooting, the Galco Safari Ching Sling<\/a> and the Rhodesian Sling<\/a> from Andy’s Leather<\/a> are probably the best. For carry, the Vero Vellini<\/a> slings work very well.<\/p>\n

Finally, I gave up and made my own by melding these two concepts together.\u00a0I used this prototype sling for about a year, hunting and shooting all over the United States and in Africa. It worked but I realized it could be better. While at Gunsite Academy<\/a> I showed it to Mike Barham of Galco Gunleather<\/a>.\u00a0Barham thought it might be something Galco<\/a>\u00a0would want to make and sale. He took my prototype and soon sent me a more refined version. When I tested and blessed it, Galco\u00a0asked what I wanted for the design. I said free rifle slings…After all, that’s what it was all about; something to help me carry and shoot my rifles better.<\/p>\n

Maybe I should have asked for a $ 1.00 every time they sold one!<\/p>\n

(Galco<\/a> originally wanted to call it the Mann Sling but my wife and I both thought this name more suited to a\u00a0guy’s\u00a0thong or jock strap.
