We are finally starting to see guns and sights that make this easier. The rifles are coming configured for smaller stature shooters and sights are available that offer no magnification and permit both eyes open shooting. After working with all of my children I have found no better way to get them on target faster. And, the faster they start hitting, the more fun they have.
